The company’s origins trace back to a ten-year-old Montgomery Tissue, who was already obsessively clean. He would spend an hour polishing a single piece of fruit before he ate it, but then a new thought struck him: what if the cloth he was using wasn’t clean enough?
So he invented a new kind of cloth. But then he worried that the new cloth wasn’t clean. So he invented a machine to clean the cloths. But then, a truly horrifying thought occurred to him: what cleans the machine that cleans the cloths? Naturally, he invented a machine that cleans the machine that cleans the cloths. This spiraling, brilliant-but-crazy logic was the true birth of his company. He soon began inventing every kind of cloth, machine, and spray he could think of, and the business was born.
